The World Lottery Summit 2020
Vancouver, Canada
October 26–30, 2020
In less than one year, the World Lottery Summit 2020 (WLS 2020) will take place. The WLA, NASPL, and host lottery BCLC have been working hard to ensure that this will be the lottery event of 2020. We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver for WLS 2020.
The official WLS 2020 website is now open! www.worldlotterysummit.org
In 2018, the WLA continued to act as the global standard-bearer for the state-regulated gaming industry, supporting state-sanctioned lotteries in their august mission of raising funds for good causes. The association vigorously promoted the remarkable contributions to society made by its members, while simultaneously defending the lottery industry's core values of integrity, security, fair play, and responsible gaming. These developments were reflected in the WLA's activities, such as publicizing and promoting the USD 82.3 billion WLA members returned to society in 2018 and supporting member lotteries and other relevant stakeholders in the fight against illegal gaming, synthetic lotteries, and match-fixing in sport.
In order to enhance our communication platform, we have initiated a new online journal.
With this effort, we hope to rapidly generate and disseminate more content to our members.
In an effort to promote the WLA and its mission and vision, we have published a 16-page brochure entitled “The World Lottery Association – Serving the lottery industry worldwide”. The brochure gives a comprehensive overview of the WLA, its products and services, its membership structure, and organizational Framework. The brochure is available for downloading in PDF format here.
The World Lottery Association (WLA) is an international trade organization that serves the interests of state-authorized lotteries and suppliers to the global lottery industry. The WLA serves over 150 state lotteries and more than 75 lottery sector suppliers worldwide. WLA lottery members exist to support good causes in their respective jurisdictions through the sale of responsible, ethical, and entertaining gaming products. To find out more about who we are, please take a few brief moments to watch this introductory video.
Currently, scammers are using World Lottery Association (WLA) letterheads and sending out letters (by e-mail and perhaps otherwise) purportedly signed by WLA functionaries informing people that they have received prizes or winnings in some form or the other. Please note: The WLA does not offer any games and therefore has neither prizes nor winnings to offer. Also, the WLA does not request any money nor ask for bank details from players etc.
The WLA is taking what action it can to stop these scammers. In the meantime, we urge you to mark the mailing as scam, inform your provider, and delete the mail. Do not reply under any circumstances or fill out any forms or provide any personal or professional information.
