Changes to the WLA Executive Committee
At the WLA biennial General Meeting, held as part of the World Lottery Summit 2016, a new WLA Executive Committee was elected and took office. Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Switzerland’s Loterie Romande, was re-elected as President of the World Lottery Association (WLA) for a third term.
At the recent WLA biennial General Meeting, held on November 9, 2016 as part of the World Lottery Summit 2016, a new WLA Executive Committee took office. Most of the incumbent Executive Committee members retained their position on the committee.
Mr. Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, General Director of Société de la Loterie de la Suisse Romande, Switzerland, was re-instated as WLA President for an unprecedented third term. Ms. Rebecca Paul Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation, USA, was also re-elected to the position of Senior Vice President. Ms. Marion Caspers-Merk, Managing Director of Staatliche Toto- Lotto GmbH Baden-Württemberg, Germany, was elected to the position of Vice President. Ms. Caspers-Merk, who was previously a regular member of the WLA Executive Committee, replaced Mr. Gilson César Braga, National Superintendent of Lotteries at Caixa Econômica Federal, Brazil, as Vice President. Mr. Braga, who had served as WLA Vice President since November 2014, stepped aside owing to other commitments. The WLA extends its thanks to Mr. Braga for his term of service as WLA Vice President.
Mr. Alfred Monaco, President of the Asociación de Loterías, Quinielas y Casinos Estatales de Argentina (A.L.E.A.), Argentina, was unanimously elected as a regular member of the WLA Executive Committee; Mr. Monaco filled the regular membership position on the committee vacated by Ms. Caspers-Merk.
