ALPHARETTA, GA – January 22, 2014 – MDI Entertainment, LLC, a subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS), announced today the launch of its 500th website designed and developed for a lottery customer. The website was created in conjunction with MDI's MONOPOLY™ Jackpot game, launched December 3rd by the Arizona Lottery. The instant game features an MDI-built 2nd Chance web-based "collect and win" game, playable on digital and mobile platforms. It offers holders of non-winning instant tickets the chance to enjoy an extended, interactive play experience that could result in winning instant cash prizes or entries into monthly progressive jackpot drawings.
"The sophistication of the game and the design of the website – both in play style and graphics – are excellent examples of the interactive lottery products developed for player engagement by our MDI group," commented Jim Kennedy, Executive Vice President and Group Chief Executive of Lottery at Scientific Games. "This 500th website created for a lottery customer speaks to our depth of innovation and experience, and to the level of trust we have established with our 42 internet customers since we created our first lottery microsite for the New Jersey Lottery in 2001."
Looking at the numbers, just over 430 of the 500 websites were created and launched as part of integrated lottery 2nd Chance drawing promotions. Today, approximately half of these integrated promotional programs feature animated 2nd Chance games like the one for MONOPOLY Jackpot. MDI also creates Players Club websites for lotteries that can feature 2nd Chance games as well as "just for fun" games, player surveys, game tutorials, drawing results, number generators and more. Lotteries participating in MDI's Properties Plus® program can take advantage of all of MDI's web-based Players Club features, as well as the Points for Prizes® loyalty rewards program, which includes MDI's Easy Entry™ ticket validation system and the state-of-the-art Points for Prizes online rewards store. Engaging lottery players and giving those players a connected lottery brand experience is the ultimate goal.
The number of lottery-specific websites launched by MDI continues to grow, as does MDI's interactive portfolio as a whole. In addition to creating interactive games, websites and the Points for Prizes lottery rewards store, MDI's interactive team has built a lottery game subscription program, innovative lottery apps and "Slingo® Lottery Challenge," an instant game and mobile competition complete with a leaderboard and the option for integrated Facebook drawings.
