2006 World Lottery Forum – Mérida, Mexico
Initially planned for November 2005 in Cancún, this event had to be rescheduled after Hurricane Wilma devastated the north-eastern Yucatan peninsula in late October. The Forum was held in Mérida, the historic capital of Yucatan state, in February 2006 and featured a mix of keynote sessions and parallel streams as well as the Directors Summit and WLA General Assembly. Hosted by the Mexican National Lottery, Lotería Nacional para la Asistencia Pública and officially opened by Vicente Fox, President of Mexico, the Forum attracted more than 500 lottery professionals from 69 countries.
