Industry Days 2016
Seminar held by the European Lottery Association
RENAISSANCE OF RETAIL IN DIGITAL TIMES
EL Industry Days 2016 is a call to all lottery professionals to envision the future of the retail gaming sector and share their knowledge and experience of the opportunities, challenges and threats ahead for retail. Lotteries and Partner/Suppliers will have the chance to interact and collaborate to provide together a road map for the future of gaming in the retail space.
With over 90% of total lottery sales in Europe happening
in retail premises it is clear that the return on investment from improving the retail experience should be far in excess of anything achievable from improvements in
the digital space.
However, the “omnichannel” narrative continues to attract
attention, capturing the zeitgeist of the current decade and, indeed, the digital age in which we live. But the pendulum never ceases its swing and we are now beginning to hear discussions about how to “warm up” the digital space and defrost the “cold click”.
Retail should provide the “warmest” of customer engagements
possible; retailers should be ready to get behind the lottery and be part of the “fun and excitement” we so often talk about. The lottery customer journey cannot be better personalised than by having your own “personal shopper” – the retailer.
The challenge for lottery companies and their Partner/Suppliers is to provide the support, functionality and facilities in the retail space to help the lottery agent in every way possible. Whether it is beacon technology to provide customers with product information, flash sales or deals, digital signage, or traditional point-of-sale material, retailers expect the lottery to provide them with the means to create the best possible experience for their customers.
Once every two years, EL Industry Days provides the Partner/Suppliers with the opportunity to interact with lottery executives and share their visions for the future. They will also share their experiences gained from partnering, developing and supporting markets with lottery
clients across the world.
This year our emphasis will be on Retail.
If you care about your retail sales... be there!
