About Us

The World Lottery Association (WLA) is an international member-based association of state-controlled lottery, licensed sports betting operators, and suppliers to the global gaming industry. We support our members in achieving their goals of creating positive societal impact through the funds they raise for good causes, while upholding integrity and responsible gaming standards.

At the WLA, we support our global member organizations in providing socially responsible offerings to generate funds for positive societal impact and the benefit of many communities around the world. Our vision is to be recognized as the global lottery and betting game authority. We will realize this vision by providing value to our diverse member base through key products, services and sharing of knowledge.

Committees

The WLA is governed by a 14-member Executive Committee, comprised of lottery CEOs from around the globe including representatives from the world's regional lottery associations. The Executive Committee is backed in its work by five supporting committees that focus on key pillars of the global lottery industry such as corporate social responsibility and security and integrity.

International cooperation is what distinguishes the WLA as a truly global association, and nowhere is cooperation more important than it is with the regional lottery associations of Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America. The WLA also maintains close ties to other bodies, including United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), which fights against match-fixing and to preserve the integrity of sports.
