| English for the Lottery Business – Step 1 13-18 June 2010 Seminar to be held at Aldwark Manor Aldwark, York, UK with Partners in Training Limited, York |
… An ideal opportunity not only to boost your practical English language skills and have a lot of fun, but also to meet international lottery colleagues who share your passion for the business. Aldwark Manor Aldwark, York, UK with Partners in Training Limited, York Can you stand up and make a presentation in English about your country’s lottery or your role in the organization? Have you ever benefited from feedback on your presentation technique and the English you use? It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced presenter or a beginner, we’ll help you to be better. Is there a difference between ‘gaming’ and ‘gambling’, for example? Does your jackpot ‘roll over’ or ‘roll out’? Have you ever had ‘a bit of a flutter’? Would you know what to do, if someone asked you to ‘splash the cash’? Do you have enough lottery specific vocabulary?
If you already know some English but would like to increase your confidence and develop your presentation skills in English – using terminology specific to the lottery business – then Step 1 is exactly what you need.
You’ll be with experienced trainers from Partners in Training Limited, who have enjoyed working with 400+ participants from 40+ lotteries from all over the world since 1994.
You’ll be interacting in English all day every day, in small teams or in front of the whole group. Very soon you’ll start to think in English and maybe you’ll even start to dream in English, too! In any case, prepare yourself for a different experience!
It’s intensive but not stressful and the week will fly by – we want you to be more effective in English but have a lot of fun at the same time. Guest speakers will talk about their specialist areas and you’ll be able to ask questions and discuss interesting issues with them, using the language learned on the course.
In the evening we play interesting (sometimes competitive!) games – all in English, of course. We will also visit beautiful, historic York which was voted 2007 ‘European Tourism City of the Year’.
Aldwark Manor (www.qhotels.co.uk) is an ideal location offering excellent accommodation, food and facilities. The nearest airport is Leeds-Bradford. Alternatively, you can fly to Manchester, Newcastle or Liverpool.
