LOTTOMATICA group subsidiary GTECH corporation to provide Canada’s Atlantic lottery corporation with 3,000 imagine™ terminals and multimedia technology, following competitive procurement

2009-12-16

Image Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that GTECH Corporation has signed a contract to provide Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) in Canada with 3,000 IMAGINE™ online lottery terminals and messaging display technology, following a competitive procurement. GTECH expects to receive revenues of approximately US$14 million commencing in the first quarter of 2011.

“We value the relationship we have with ALC and are pleased to win this new business,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “GTECH’s wide range of products and services enable our customers to match the best solutions for their individual needs. With this contract, ALC will benefit from the efficiencies and new technology of our IMAGINE terminals. The terminal’s higher processing speed will offer greater digital merchandising options for ALC utilizing ES MultiMedia at the point-of-sale.”

The 3,000 IMAGINE GT1200 online lottery terminals will replace the lottery retail terminals currently operated at retail locations across Atlantic Canada. These terminals are used for national and regional online games (such as LOTTO MAX, Twist and Bucko), Scratch’n Win and break-open tickets, as well as sports games (for example, PRO•LINE).

In addition, GTECH will provide ALC with the Company’s IP-based ES Connect® software. ES Connect is a highly-secure, high-volume, open standards network interface that connects a lottery’s transaction processing engine to a multitude of sales channels and devices. It can be implemented on an existing lottery system without the need for a major system conversion.

Moreover, GTECH will install its ES MultiMedia technology that will allow ALC to manage, distribute, and display multimedia content such as games, advertising, and messaging through a single point of control.
